This suicide prevention and anti-bullying campaign was made by Des Matelske, director and editor of “Don’t Stay Silent”, the video that touched hundreds and made many aware of cyber bullying and the effects of it. Over 160,000 kids under the age of 18 stay home from school each day because of bullying. Nearly 5,000 kids a year between the ages 13 and 18 commit suicide because of bullying and/or stress. A lot of these kids and teens that have been bullied are afraid to search for help, or stand up for themselves, which most of the time results in suicide. The “Don’t Stay Silent. - Suicide Prevention & Anti-Bullying Campaign” wants to put a stop to bullying, and help save the young lives who are afraid to speak up. It’s now your turn to stand up and speak out, and help someone in need.
